Waterloo Catholic District School Board Schools Closed Friday, December 23 due to Weather

A major winter storm is expected to reach Waterloo Region overnight tonight and is expected to cause dangerous driving conditions on Friday and over the weekend.

Based on this forecast – and with the safety of all in mind – the WCDSB in collaboration with the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) and Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region (STSWR), has made the proactive decision to cancel ALL student transportation and close ALL schools and school board administrative sites tomorrow, Friday, December 23, 2022.

All before and after school programs and childcare centres co-located in schools will also be closed.

And all programs and services offered by St. Louis Adult Learning and Continuing Education Centres are cancelled and St. Louis sites will be closed.

We pray that everyone is able to remain safe during the storm, and we wish one and all a happy and blessed Christmas break.

We look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday, January 9, 2023.

Due to bus cancellations and weather conditions, we have had to make the difficult decision to postpone our Bible celebration that was scheduled for today.  When we have another date confirmed we will let you know.

Due to the current weather conditions, ALL SCHOOL BUSES, TAXIS AND SPECIAL EDUCATION ROUTES operated by the Waterloo Catholic District School Board and Waterloo Region District School Board are cancelled. All Public and Catholic Schools are OPEN. All St. Louis online, daytime, and evening classes are open at all locations. All Extended Day Childcare Programs are OPEN.

Hi Thunderbird Families,

Please note, that we will return to in person learning tomorrow, November 8th.  If you borrowed a Chromebook, please return it to school with your child as we use them throughout the school day.  Thanks, and see you tomorrow, Thunderbirds!

Hello White Bus 135 and Blue Bus 108 Families,

Unfortunately, due to a significant traffic delay the white bus 135 and blue bus 108 are delayed, the length of time is unknown.  If you are able to pick your child up please feel free to do so.  If you cannot pick your child up the bus will be here and will get them to the stop, we are not sure when.  If you are going to wait for your child, please wait at the stop.  If you are going to come pick them up please come to the front of the school as we will have the students waiting in our library.  Thanks.

We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all our Librarians & Librarian Technicians today on “Canadian Library Workers Day”.  From cataloging so many books, story time with classes, and supporting schools with technology and other resources, we say a huge thank you. They are always ready to lend a helping hand, and they play such a valuable role in our schools.

At St. Daniel we say a BIG thank you to Ms. Cipric for being so welcoming to all of our students when they come into the Learning Commons! You have created such an inclusive and vibrant space for them to learn and explore! We are lucky to have you in our Thunderbird Nest!
