Support for Families this Christmas…

Hello Families,

As the holiday season approaches, there may be families in our community who will need additional support with food and toys. Planning must begin in early November.

St. Daniel School will be running our annual Angel Tree program, with all donations going to support local families. More information will come in the following weeks.

Starting Nov 1st, at 9 a.m., families needing support should register online or they can call to receive help with registering at: 519-742-5860

To register online, visit: https://christmassupport.ca/

This BEGINS Nov 1st, at 9 a.m. When the 5100-family limit has been reached, registration will close.

Families that have missed registration, can come to the pantry at St. Anthony Daniel Church Monday nights from 6 pm to 7pm to register with the parish for a Christmas food hamper.

To register for toys, families can call the Knights of Columbus at 519 884 2060.

If help is still needed with any problems or questions, families can call Mary at St. Vincent De Paul: 510 580 6020

Our thoughts and prayers go out to one and all over the holiday season.

Thank you.

Happy National Bus Drivers Appreciation Day!

Wednesday, October 18 is National Bus Drivers Day

The staff and students of St. Daniel would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all our Bus Drivers today on “National Bus Drivers Day”.  You are sometimes the first smiling adult a child sees each morning and the last before they get home.  You always brave the weather to get our kids safely where they need to be, while being a shining example for students as you do it!  You are truly superheroes and today we want to say THANK YOU! We are so grateful for you getting our Thunderbirds to and from school safely!

Happy Early Childhood Educators Day!

Tuesday, October 17, 2023 is Early Childhood Educators Day

The staff and students of St. Daniel would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all our Early Childhood Educators today on Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day.  It is often said that “It takes a big heart to work with a small child.”  We are so thankful for your efforts with our youngest learners.  Our students in Junior Kindergarten and Senior Kindergarten learn and grow so much, thanks to your efforts with them, day-in and day-out.  Your endless patience, kindness and enthusiasm with our youngest learners helps to create an environment that they want to be in, that their parents trust, and that builds the foundation for a wonderful educational experience for years to come.  Everyone here at St. Daniel would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Ms. Joy, Mrs. Santana, Mrs. Lerotic, Mrs. Mocan, and Ms. Schmidt!

St. Daniel Update…

Hello T-Bird Families,

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow, October 6th, is a P.A. Day and there is no school. Monday the
9th is a holiday, so we will see you back on Tuesday the 10th.

Our Fall Food Drive will run from Tuesday, Oct. 10th - Friday Oct 27th.  Our goal is to raise 1000
items, by asking each student to bring in 2 items.

The class from each division to bring in the most the items will win a yummy pizza lunch ????

Please enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend with family and friends.

Thanksgiving Day Prayer

O God, when I have food,
help me to remember the hungry;
When I have work,
help me to remember the jobless;
When I have a home,
help me to remember those who have no home at all;
When I am without pain,
help me to remember those who suffer,
And remembering,
help me to destroy my complacency;
bestir my compassion,
and be concerned enough to help;
By word and deed,
those who cry out for what we take for granted.
Amen.

Thank you,

St. Daniel School Staff

National Custodial and Maintenance Workers Recognition Day!

Monday, October 2: National Custodial and Maintenance Workers Recognition Day.

The staff and students of St. Daniel would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all our Board Custodians and Maintenance Workers.  Monday, October 2 is “National Custodial and Maintenance Worker Recognition Day”.  The role of the school custodian has changed immensely over the course of the past couple of years.  We can’t thank our custodial staff enough for their hard work, their dedication to the job and their continued role in the safety of all.

We would also like to thank the many board maintenance workers that work hard in all our schools, to keep things running smoothly.  Many times, your work is done in the early hours of the morning or the late hours of the evenings, and we don’t even see you in the building.  We do however, benefit from your hard work everyday and recognize today, your important contributions to the success of our schools and our students.

THANK YOU to all of our Board Custodians and Maintenance Workers, and a big shout out to our very own Mr. Thomas and Mr. Sylvia! Thank you for keeping our Thunderbird Nest clean and safe for us to learn in!
