2024 Terry Fox T-shirts available for sale now!!!

The Terry Fox Foundation has once again partnered with beloved Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds to launch its annual limited-edition Terry Fox Run shirt. This year’s shirt features the tagline #NoMatterWhat, celebrating Terry’s unwavering determination, no matter the challenges or circumstances, when running his iconic Marathon of Hope in 1980.

Starting today, students and parents/guardians can purchase the limited-edition #NoMatterWhat shirt on St. Daniel’s cash online. The goal is for this year’s shirt to act as a reminder of Terry’s strength, courage and perseverance, and aims to inspire Canadians to embrace this mindset in their own lives.

Produced by Adidas, youth and adult unisex t-shirts are available in a variety of sizes from $20 (youth) and $25 (adult). Order this year’s limited-edition #NoMatterWhat shirt while supplies last. All proceeds will directly support cancer research across Canada. No returns or exchanges. All shirt sales are final.

Thank you for helping us commemorate the start of the Marathon of Hope, and for continuing Terry’s legacy to fund cancer research at St. Daniel School.

Happy Administrative Assistant’s Day!

The staff and students at St. Daniel would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all the Administrative Assistants today on “Administrative Assistant’s Day”. Behind every successful day at school – however you measure that success – is YOU. YOU are the face of our schools.  The first smile that our students and families see when they come to us.  YOU are the medical expert, giving ice, providing tissues and paper towels, handing out medication and inhalers.  YOU are the mental health experts, calming bodies, minds, and hearts with ease.  YOU are the ones that our students go to for everything they need; the ones that all staff go to for everything they need; and the ones that our Administrators go to for everything we need.  YOU at the one.

Today we recognize the sacrifices you make in your personal time, your family time and in your lives for the good of the school.  We recognize the dedication you have to your communities, and we recognize the challenges that you deal with – with ease.

Mrs. Rossiter and Mrs. Weiler – St. Daniel School would not run without your selfless acts to help every student, staff, and family in our community. Today we recognize YOU and the impact that you have on our world and the Thunderbird Nest. You keep us all going, and we cannot thank you enough!

WCDSB School Climate Survey…

School Climate Survey for Families

The survey is now open.

School Climate Survey

We value your feedback as a parent / legal guardian of a student in our school. Please take a few minutes to fill out this survey and share your opinions with us. We want to learn about your child’s experiences at school so we can understand what is working well and how we might improve in order to contribute to a more positive school

The WCDSB conducts this School Climate survey with parents/guardians every two years as a key strategy to building a positive school climate and is also a requirement of the Education Act s.169.1(1)(a), (a.1), (a.2) and PPM 145. Specifically, this survey will invite parents/guardians to share their experiences so that your child’s school and the Board can:

· make informed planning decisions about programs to promote safe and inclusive schools,

· determine the effectiveness of programs on an ongoing basis, and

· build and sustain a positive school climate.

No personal information will be collected from any participant on the survey (e.g., email) and therefore responses from the survey cannot be connected with information already held by the Board in our student information system. All responses will be combined to create school-level and Board-level reports. No program, service or benefit may be withheld because a respondent does not participate, or refuses to participate, in the school climate survey.

If you have questions about the school climate survey collection, please contact your school administrator, the WCDSB Research Team (research@wcdsb.ca) or the WCDSB Privacy Records and Information Management Officer (privacy@wcdsb.ca).
