Important October and November Dates and Reminders

Can you believe that we are now into November this week?!?!

Wow, time flies when you are having fun. 🙂

I wanted to share some reminders and important dates coming up:

  1. we are now doing boomerang lunches- having students recycle and compost at school, but take any garbage home. (Please help us be eco friendly)
  2. tomorrow is Halloween bingo and popcorn sales: $1 to play bingo at lunch in the library; $1 for popcorn outside the library to start lunch.
  3. Halloween parade of winning costumes (most funny and most creative costumes from each class) after morning recess.
  4. Please ensure all costumes are safe, inclusive, have no weapons or masks, and fit our Catholic School Values.

For November:

November 1: Homework Club for Grade 7/8s after school from 3:45-4:45 in the library (FREE and one on one support available).

November 9th: we celebrate our Remembrance Day ceremony in the gym after first recess.

November 12th: bus evacuation for all students to practice safety on the bus for field trips as well as regular bus situations in the morning

November 14th: Take Your Kids to Work Day for Grade 9 students at St. Marys; some students will be visiting St. Daniel

November 15th: Confirmation meeting for Grade 7s at the PLC at 7pm

November 16th: PD Day (Numeracy)

November 19-23 is our Positive School Culture Week: wearing pink; celebrating and reflecting on kindness; Constable Molnar speaking to our students about social media (Grade 5-8) on Monday.

November 26-30th is our Faith in Action and Love of Reading Week: Book Fair all week; School Council presents an author talk to students on Nov. 27th to students during the day and parents in the evening. Full school mass at 9:30 on November 30th. Grade 7 students will receive the cross on Monday at 1:30 pm and walk back to St. Daniel with it to have for the week. We are the last school in the board to receive the cross and it will end with the mass at the church on Friday.

Thanks so much for all you do to support our students here at St. Daniel.

We have raised funds through our Big Box; for charity; and for our Nutrition for Learning this year so far and your support is kind, generous and appreciated.

God Bless.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Temple (proud Principal of St. Daniel)
