Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year!

We hope you enjoyed a wonderful summer, and that you are relaxed, recharged and ready to start a new school year. We are indeed a joyous and caring community with the common goals of nurturing enthusiastic successful Thunderbirds, and promoting high-level faith based learning. We are truly “Called to Belong”.

In the Bible, the word “call” is used most often to refer to God’s invitation to bring people to Christ and to participate in His work in the world. This sense of calling is especially prominent throughout the bible. The calling to belong to Christ goes deeper than the kinds of things we do at school. It is about the call to follow Jesus. It is a call to a restored relationship with God and with other people and with the world around us. It encompasses all of a person’s being and doing. We belong to each other. So what we do is utterly crucial. Continue to be kind, care for the gift of creation and never stop doing the amazing things that make a difference in the world.

Our hard working and conscientious custodians have spent the entire summer working through renovations and thoroughly cleaning our school. We are indeed a joyous and caring community with the common goals of Nurturing, Enthusiastic, Successful Thunderbirds (NEST).

Facilities Update

If you drove past the school or utilized our outdoor play spaces this summer, you may have noticed some construction projects. We are very excited to have new blacktop for our students to play on. This addition provides us with a safe space for all of our students to play during our recess breaks. To accommodate space and program needs in the main building, an additional portable was installed that will house our grade 6 classroom. Additionally, there are several exciting construction updates: air conditioning, new main office, new electrical and ceilings, new lighting throughout the school, student washroom upgrades, classroom painting, new coat hooks, cabinetry, the list goes on!

We are so appreciative of the hard work by our construction team, thank you!

Finally, thank you to all who are helping prepare for the new school year. Your commitment to ensuring that St. Daniel School remains a celebrated and successful school is awe-inspiring. We eagerly look forward to greeting students and families again. It remains an honour and privilege for us to serve as your administration team. Please stop by and say hello. Together, we know that we will make this school year one of growth and achievement for all children, as we are Called to Belong!
